Washington 1964 Cloth Very Good to Very Good+ Slipcase: Good Washington D.C. Size:10 1/2" x 12" Photographs, Drawings, Foldout Map 
The Council's assignment had its origin in the Inaugural Parade on January 20, 1961, when President Kennedy noticed the drab appearance of Pennsylvania Avenue and decided to do something about it. A Council was produced which submitted this Report. 56 pp. 54 illustrations with photographs, sketchs of the Avenue's history, facsimiles, large illustrated foldout showing the whole Avenue, and sketches of the plan showing specific areas of the Avenue. Green "linen-like" covers with title in gilt letters on the front cover. spine faded. Overall Book is Very Good to Very Good+. Interior is tight, clean and Near Fine. Illustrated slipcase. Mildly soiled. Slipcase is Good.

49th Congress, 1st Session, Senate, Ex. Doc. No. 154. May 26, 1886.--Referred to the Committee on the District of Columbia and ordered to be printed. Question of printing maps and reports to the Committee on Printing. June 18, 1886.--Accompanying papers ordered to be printed. "Resolved, That the Secretary of War be, and he is hereby, requested to ascertain the advisability and practicability of providing the water supply of the capital with filters and other appliances for cleansing and purifying the water, and to report the result of his inquiries, together with plans and estimates of the cost and application of the same." 24 pp. Three fold out drawings: one is map of proposed filter system, one is a drawing of the filter and lastly is a proposed plan of the filter house. Disbound government document. Document is complete, but several pages are separated from rest of document. Spine edge is creased with some chipping, some residue from book binding remains. Document corners are creased, edges browning, a few page edges are bent. Overall document in Good condition.

Washington Aqueduct. 34th Congress, 1st Session, House of Representatives, Ex. Doc. No. 82. April 11--Ordered to be printed. Details of the plan, management and cost of the Washington aqueduct as required by a resolution by the House of Resentatives of the 7th instant. 101 pp. Disbound government document. Residue and string-tie from book remain on spine edge. Corners are rubbed and minor creasing along spine. Front page is very brown from age, and there is light browning and foxing throughout interior. Document in VG- condition.

January 13, 1896.--Referred to the Committee on the District of Columbia and ordered to be printed. 8 pp. Fold-out map and two plates demonstrating the encroachment of various properties to the aqueduct and planned Dalecarlia reservoir. Disbound government document. Residue from book binding, creasing and chipping to spine edge. Chipping to top page edge, folded corners, some minor tanning. Text is easily legible, map and plates are clean. Document in VG- condition.
