1 Capt. Billy's Whiz Bang
Minnesota Robbinsdale 1925 Softcover Good Magazine Size: Approx. 5" x 7 1/4" Sketches
January issue, Vol. VII, No. 81."This Magazine is edited by a Spanish-American and World War Veteran and is dedicated to the Fighting Forces of the United States and Canada." 64 pp. Captain Billy's Whiz Bang is considered the great grandfather of the National Lampoon and other humor magazines. Once considered risqué, it is now considered a mirror of contemporary society in the Roaring Twenties. After serving in World War I, Wilford H. A wholesaler picked up the publication and started selling it in hotels and drugstores. Color illustrated cover-some wear. Creased down middle as if folded. Shows through a bit inside-minor. Stapled. Tear at spine base up to first staple and missing spine paper. Overall covers are Good. First page name scratched over-previous owner's? Otherwise interior is clean, tight and Very Good.
