Ex. library identification numbers on circle sticker adhered to front cover. Interior pages also have chipped and torn edges, creasing, torn corners. Text is easily legible. Map has some creasing and chipping to edges, no tears to creases. Overall document in Good- condition.

58 pp., mimeographed paper. In 1943, Jeff Dykes (well-known Western bibliographer and respected bookseller), wrote to the Forest Service for "a list of books by and about park rangers." The Department sent back this list as well as a 13-page list of Field Officials of the National Park Service and Books Suggested for Study for Civil Service Examinations for the Positions of Ranger and Naturalist in the National Park Service (1938, 13 pp.). Also includes -- probably added by Dykes -- a 4 pp. bibliography of Stories about Forest Rangers, a 4 pp. Selected List of Publications on the Subject of Forest Rangers, and a 1 page list of Forest Ranger and Allied Books. With a typed letter (3/3/42) to Dykes, and the original mailing envelope. Interesting collection with details about the National Park System. Many of the pages have personal notes written by Jeff Dykes, likely as he was conducting his research.
