Clement David Hellyer was for many years the Inter-American Editor of THE SAN DIEGO UNION in San Diego, California. Before that, he taught journalism at San Diego State College. Bilingual in Spanish and Portuguese, he and his family lived in many Latin American countries. In 1983, he and his wife retired to Spring Grove, Minnesota to a 40 acre farm with a spring fed trout stream, Bee Creek... Hence the name
