"Resolved, That the Secretary of War be, and he is hereby, requested to ascertain the advisability and practicability of providing the water supply of the capital with filters and other appliances for cleansing and purifying the water, and to report the result of his inquiries, together with plans and estimates of the cost and application of the same." 24 pp. Three fold out drawings: one is map of proposed filter system, one is a drawing of the filter and lastly is a proposed plan of the filter house. Disbound government document. Document is complete, but several pages are separated from rest of document. Spine edge is creased with some chipping, some residue from book binding remains. Document corners are creased, edges browning, a few page edges are bent. Overall document in Good condition.
